Staying in Waikiki
Waikiki is largely walkable. There's access to great restaurants and coffee within walking distance of most hotels.
Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are always nearby. For longer trips out of town, you may look into Turo or car rentals, though keep in mind most hotels don't offer free parking.
Honolulu has a very accessible bike share program called Biki, with numerous stands all over Waikiki. Coverage dwindles as you move away from Waikiki and Ala Moana, but Biki is a great option to get to Diamond Head and some farther-away lunch spots or beaches. You can rent a bike from a stand via debit card, or download the app for more clarity and options.
The bus system on Oahu goes anywhere you want to go, and is by far the least expensive option, though it will take more time. They run consistently and the driver has a special 'mahalo 🤙' button
We have secured courtesy rate blocks on the Marriott Sheraton Princess Kaiulani in central Waikiki and the Ramada Plaza in west Waikiki, as well as the Equus hotel for family. There is no financial commitment or obligation for these rate blocks, so please do what is best for you. Here is a Google Doc with the hotel block details.
AirBnBs are legal only in Waikiki, rent at your own risk.
Exploring Oahu on your own can be incredibly rewarding. Below are some suggestions as well as links to join a pre-made WhatsApp group with like-minded visitors.
